ABOUT SALLY VON ERFFA

Having grown up in a community of healers, artists, activists and spiritual seekers, Sally found it natural to delve into the path of a therapist. Early on she developed a love for anything that fostered growth, connection, healing, creativity and joy. From going to a fire-walking ceremony at 13 to studying Reiki at 15, to practicing yoga in elementary school, she was well primed to seek a life beyond the realms material satisfaction. She developed a love for dance as a teenager, and began intensely studying a variety of forms of movement. Her love for movement led to a deep interest in anatomy, emotional holding patterns in the body, and expression. She decided to deepen her knowledge and skills by studying bodywork at the New Mexico Academy of Healing Arts. Her work as a massage therapist led her to a greater appreciation for the connection between the body, emotions, and the mind. She was also fascinated with culture, and how people are shaped by the expectations and norms of a society. This led her to study Anthropology as an undergraduate student. After receiving her Bachelors degree, she went to live in a spiritual community in Scotland -The Findhorn Foundation. There she connected with the powers of meditation, community living, gardening, and a wide variety of life transforming tools. It was there that her vision of becoming a therapist solidified. She returned to the US and began a three year masters program in Expressive Arts Therapy at CIIS. She later received a certification in clinical hypnotherapy from HCH, which included in-depth training in EFT.
She has worked extensively with youth and families, as well as adults, couples, and elderly populations. She a staff member at HCH, where she teaches classes Expressive Arts and Hypnotherapy with Children.
